November in Junior Infants.
Our theme for the month is ‘The Arctic’.
We have been learning all about the Arctic through stories and videos. Learning all about the animals found there, the Inuits who live there, what the weather would be like and what we would wear when we get there. We have been dressing up and acting out scenes from the Arctic in the drama area and playing with Arctic animals in the small world area during play.
We have been doing lots of Arctic and winter based art. Check out some lovely directed drawings of a polar bear by some of the children.
We are learning about patterns in maths, sorting sets of objects, the number 1 and soon to learn about the number 2. We have been doing lots of counting games too!
We also started learning our sounds this month which is lots of fun. Lots of games and activities based around the sounds which the children are really enjoying!
In SPHE we have been learning about feelings and about feeling safe and unsafe.
